Some wedding details are chosen for how they look. Others are chosen because they mean something.
For Aishwarya and Yash, their wedding was a little bit of both.
Both doctors, the couple came to Crafting Memories having already seen our work, including our signature infinity mandap. But while they knew the kind of grandeur they loved, Aishwarya didn’t come with a reference image she wanted recreated. She wanted something that felt completely her own.
She has always loved grand and full floral mandaps. The kind that make an immediate statement the moment you see them. And she had always imagined herself as a Sabyasachi bride: rich, regal and unmistakably Indian.
The challenge was to bring all of that together without allowing one idea to overpower another.
The result was a wedding where every celebration was designed around the couple, their outfits, their colour palette and, most importantly, a story that began with something as simple as a rose.
A Grand Sangeet in Crimson
The Sangeet set the tone for the celebrations with a rich, deep crimson palette.
Aishwarya wanted the evening to feel grand and expansive, with the stage becoming the visual centre of the celebration. Multiple décor elements, layered detailing and varied seating styles helped give the space the scale of a larger-than-life Indian wedding.
The colour story was equally intentional. Rather than treating décor as something separate from the couple, the entire setting was curated to complement what they were wearing.
This became a recurring design principle throughout the wedding: the décor was never meant to compete with the couple. It was meant to frame them.
From one event to the next, colours and styling were carefully considered around their outfits, creating a celebration that felt cohesive without looking repetitive.
A Sabyasachi-Inspired Wedding, Reimagined
Aishwarya had always pictured herself as a Sabyasachi bride.
She wanted the richness, grandeur and unmistakable Indian character associated with that aesthetic but she didn’t want the wedding setting itself to feel dark or heavy.
So, instead of leaning into deeper tones, the wedding décor moved in a softer direction.
Aishwarya wore striking red, while Yash complemented her in ivory. Against those richer bridal tones, the décor came alive in peaches, whites and delicate floral shades.
The contrast was intentional.
The lighter palette allowed the couple to remain the focal point while still giving the setting the fullness and opulence Aishwarya loved. Flowers brought in the grandeur, while the softer colours kept the overall setting romantic, elegant and contemporary.
The Rose Behind the Mandap Design
Then came the detail that would shape the most personal element of the wedding.
A rose Yash once gave Aishwarya became the inspiration for their mandap, while a letter from him found its way into the design of their welcome board.
Rather than simply covering the structure in roses, the Crafting Memories design team looked at the rose itself, particularly the way its petals layer, fold and unfold and translated that form into the architecture of the mandap.
The result was a layered floral structure inspired by the delicate construction of a rose petal.
Layer upon layer created a sense of movement and depth, almost as though an oversized rose had opened around the couple.
It was exactly what Aishwarya had asked for from the beginning: a mandap that wasn’t simply beautiful, but one that was uniquely hers.
When the Couple Became Part of the Design
One of the most consistent details throughout the celebrations was the way the décor was curated around Aishwarya and Yash themselves.
Their outfits became an important part of the design process. Every event had its own palette and visual language, but the styling was always chosen to complement what the couple would wear.
And there was another detail that became almost characteristic of Aishwarya throughout the celebrations: she was usually ready well before the event began.
She wanted enough time for her photoshoots, making those getting-ready moments and portraits part of the experience too.
It was a small detail, but it reflected something important about the wedding: the celebration wasn’t just about the big moments. The couple wanted time to experience and capture every part of it.
Choreographed Entrances & Larger-Than-Life Celebrations
The grandeur extended beyond the décor.
With multiple artists, performances, dancers and a dedicated choreographer involved, the bridal and groom entries were treated as productions in their own right.
Every entrance was choreographed, building anticipation before the couple arrived and turning each appearance into a moment of celebration.
It was the kind of energy that defined the wedding as a whole: theatrical, celebratory and unmistakably big-fat-Indian-wedding.
From the stage design at the Sangeet to the floral architecture of the mandap, every element was designed to create a sense of occasion.
A Wedding That Started With a Rose
What makes Aishwarya and Yash’s wedding particularly memorable isn’t simply the scale of the celebrations.
It is the thought behind the details.
A personal gesture became a design concept.
A rose became a mandap.
A love for grand florals became a layered floral installation.
A dream of being a Sabyasachi bride became a softer interpretation of grandeur through peaches, whites and contrasting bridal reds.
And outfits became the starting point for an entire colour story across the celebrations.
