Some couples come to you with a blank canvas. Others arrive knowing exactly what they like and Savvy & Sheetal were very much the latter.

They knew they wanted their wedding to feel different. But different didn’t mean unfamiliar. They wanted elements they had seen and loved, only reimagined in a way that felt more personal, more contemporary, and distinctly theirs.

Set against the beautiful surroundings of Grand Hyatt Goa, their celebrations became a study in contrasts; European-inspired elegance meets Indian tradition, a larger-than-life moon takes over the Sangeet, and soft pastel florals flow towards the sea at the wedding.

Three celebrations. Three distinct moods. One very clear design philosophy: take the familiar and make it unexpected.

The result was a celebration that never felt repetitive because every occasion brought something new to the table.

Haldi: A Little Bit Italian, A Lot Indian

The Haldi took a rather unexpected route.

Instead of leaning into a traditional Indian Haldi aesthetic, the design drew inspiration from a more Italian, almost Mediterranean visual language.

There was an effortless, elegant quality to the setting, the kind of aesthetic that feels right at home under the warm sun.

But there was no question that this was still an Indian celebration.

Marigolds became the bridge between the two worlds.

Their unmistakable Indian character brought warmth and familiarity to an otherwise European-inspired setting. Rather than allowing the marigolds to take over, they were thoughtfully integrated into the design, creating a balance between the contemporary and the traditional.

It was exactly the kind of fusion Savvy & Sheetal were looking for, something familiar, but seen through a completely different lens.

Sangeet: When the Moon Became the Statement

If the Haldi played with soft, European-inspired elegance, the Sangeet took a dramatic turn.

Savvy & Sheetal envisioned an evening that felt bold, immersive and unforgettable and the entire celebration was washed in rich, striking red, creating an atmosphere that was impossible to overlook.

But the real statement came from the groom’s brief. He wanted a life-size installation that would become the centrepiece of the evening. That idea evolved into a larger-than-life revolving moon, bringing movement and theatre to the space.

Set against the intensity of the all-red décor, the glowing moon became a striking visual contrast. As it revolved through the evening, it transformed from a backdrop into an experience adding a sense of drama to a night already filled with music, performances and celebration.

Bold red. A larger-than-life moon. And a Sangeet designed to make a statement.

The Wedding: Letting the Sea Lead the Way

For the wedding ceremony, the design direction softened considerably.

With the sea already providing such a spectacular natural backdrop, the intention was never to overpower it with heavy structures or excessive décor.

Instead, the couple chose soft pastel tones and a lighter, more fluid approach.

The idea was simple: complement the surroundings rather than compete with them.

And this philosophy became particularly evident in the way the aisle and backdrop were designed.

An Aisle That Didn’t Follow a Straight Line

At first glance, the wedding aisle appeared straight forward a clean path leading towards the ceremony.

But from a look above, the design reveals a clever detail.

While the aisle itself remained straight, the florals moved in a curve.

That subtle deviation introduced movement into the composition. The floral arrangement created a beautiful contrast against the structured line of the aisle, making the design feel more organic and visually interesting.

It was a small detail, but one that perfectly captured the couple’s approach to the wedding.

Nothing needed to be overly complicated.

Sometimes, simply changing the way a familiar element is placed can completely transform it.

Three Celebrations. Three Personalities.

What makes Savvy & Sheetal’s wedding interesting isn’t that every function looked alike.

It is quite the opposite.

The Haldi explored an Italian-inspired aesthetic, brought back to its Indian roots through marigolds.

The Sangeet embraced drama with a revolving moon that became the evening’s statement piece.

The Wedding stripped things back, using pastels, curves and delicate floral movement to complement the sea.

Yet there was a common thread running through all three.

The couple knew what they wanted but they weren’t afraid to interpret it differently.

And that is where the magic happened.

A Celebration That Felt Like Them

The most memorable weddings aren’t necessarily the ones with the most décor.

They’re the ones where every choice feels intentional.

Savvy & Sheetal’s celebrations at Grand Hyatt Goa were a perfect example of that philosophy. Familiar Indian elements were given contemporary interpretations, statement installations were created with purpose, and even the simplest details like the curve of a floral aisle were thoughtfully considered.

It was a wedding that moved between elegance, drama and romance without ever losing its sense of identity.

Because ultimately, the brief was never just to create something beautiful.

It was to create something different but still completely them.

And that became the story of Savvy & Sheetal’s Goa wedding.
